St. Anne’s Church Thottam Hosts Successful Easter Art Evening
The Catholic Sabha unit of St. Anne’s Church, Thottam, organized a highly successful Easter Art Evening on Sunday, April 27, drawing a large crowd to the church’s open-air stage. The event, aimed at fundraising for church projects, was inaugurated by renowned Konkani singer Vishwas Rebimbus, who praised the initiative's community spirit.
Ronald D. Almeida, President of the Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, served as chief guest and emphasized the importance of unity in community development. A key highlight was the launch of the new cultural organization, Pratibhangan, inaugurated by Parish Priest Rev. Denis D’Sa, who stressed the need to prioritize humanity and cultural engagement.
The evening featured vibrant performances, including songs by Nelson Lewis Santhekatte’s Carols Beat Group, comic acts by the Memory troupe from Mangalore, and a play staged by Pratibhangan artists. A heartfelt Konkani song by Rev. Denis D’Sa moved the audience deeply.
Notable attendees included Sunil Fernandes, Sr. Sushma, and Clarence Fernandes, reflecting strong community support. Veena Fernandes welcomed the gathering, while Secretary Shanti Picardo delivered the vote of thanks. The event, expertly compered by Lavina Fernandes, highlighted the parish’s unity, talent, and cultural pride.
